In this example, we illustrate how to block GRAVITY content from appearing on any URL path with the word ‘project ‘ in it by using a general rule. We illustrate how to block GRAVITY on a search result page containing files.
Block project
The assumption is that a normal URL to a projects site is: sharepoint.com/project/project1.html
To start blocking ‘project’ in SharePoint:
- Go to Admin > Sites > Select a configuration from the list > Tab: Site Mapping
- Press the edit button in the listed URL you need to exclude a URL
- Go to the ‘Ignore list’
- add ‘projects’ and select ‘CONTAINS_IN_PATH’
- press the ‘Add’ button to confirm the rule to this configuration
Once the configuration is updated (with a default interval of 8 hours), rules will take effect.
Block files parameters
The assumption is that a URL to a file search result is: sharepoint.com/projects/project1.html?searchresult=files
To configure the blocking on ‘file search results’ add the following configuration to the ignore list.
- add ‘searchresult=files’ and select ‘CONTAINS_IN_PARAMS’
